SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Appalachian State junior Courtney Freeman has been named the Southern Conference’s Student-Athlete of the Week, the league office announced today.
The 5-foot-11 forward posted a double-double with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the Mountaineers’ 78-63 win over Furman Saturday. Freeman also had a team-high three steals in that game.
The junior from Carlton, Ga., registered six points, six rebounds and two steals Monday night in Appalachian State’s 58-39 win over Western Carolina, extending the Mountaineers’ win streak to five games.
Freeman maintains a 3.77 GPA in healthcare management.
