Campus Corner 1/26/2011 9:10:00 AM Southern Conference Mountaineer Women's Basketball Holds Special Olympics Clinic BOONE, N.C. - Appalachian State University women's basketball used its day off from practice this week to give back to the community, as the program held a 90 minute clinic for Special Olympics participants in Varsity Gym.Numerous members of the ASU women's basketball team, along with Head Coach Darcie Vincent and Associate Head Coach Heather Kearney worked with several participants throughout the clinic.Participants had the opportunity to work on dribbling, ball handling skills, rebounding, boxing out and shooting, along with scrimmaging one another as well.The Mountaineers jump back into action Saturday, January 29, as they return to Boone, N.C., to host Southern Conference opponent Furman. The game between the Apps and Paladins is set to begin at 2 p.m. in the Holmes Center.
