Mountaineers Participate in Celebrity Serve
March 28, 2007 - Appalachian State University student-athletes gave back to the High Country community on Tuesday evening, as a number of athletes from 12 different sports participated in the annual Celebrity Serve event, which benefited the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

The student-athletes volunteered their time to wait on tables at local restaurants and a portion of every bill and all tips was donated to local Make-A-Wish efforts.

Since 1980, the Make-A-Wish Foundation has enriched the lives of children with life-threatening medical conditions through its wish-granting work. The Foundation's mission reflects the life-changing impact that a Make-A-Wish experience has on children, families, referral sources, donors, sponsors and entire communities.
