College of Charleston coaches Nancy Wilson and Bobby Cremins donated over 50 pairs of gently-used basketball shoes to the South Carolina Federal Credit Union's Shoe Drive on Wednesday.

South Carolina Federal Credit Union will provide thousands of shoes to underprivileged people this holiday season.

Beginning November 1st, and running through December 15th, South Carolina Federal
encourages its members, and the public at large, to donate “gently used” shoes at its branches
so they can be cleaned and distributed to needy South Carolina residents.

In addition, for every two pairs of shoes collected during the campaign, South Carolina Federal will purchase one new pair of shoes for disadvantaged children in the area, up to 6,500 pairs.

All 23 South Carolina Federal branches, as well as its headquarters, are participating in the program. Each branch serves as a drop-off site with specially marked collection bins to gather donated shoes.

South Carolina Federal has partnered with Charleston and Columbia-area branches of the Salvation Army to implement this program
