SPARTANBURG, SC – ETSU sophomore Veigar Heidarsson was named SoCon Men’s Golfer of the Week for tournaments played between October 21-27.

Heidarsson (Akureyi, Iceland) finished in a tie for seventh place at the 2026 Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate, which was hosted at the 7,147-yard (Par 72) Blackthorn Club in Jonesborough, TN. Heidarsson finished under par in all three rounds, shooting 68-67-70 to finish five strokes out of first place. He sank 17 birdie putts over 54 holes, including seven in the second round.

Heidarsson’s effort helped ETSU finish fourth in the team standings, nine strokes in front of Middle Tennessee State. Teammates Erik Tjarnberg and Oli Blackadder both finished in the top 30 individually to help the Bucs’ push into the top 5.

ETSU wrapped up its fall season on Tuesday in Hawaii at the loaded Ka’anapali Classic in Lahaina.
