A native of Raleigh, N.C., Williams finished second in his heat with a time of 8:31.61 to advance automatically to the semifinals, which will be held on June 11 at 7:38 p.m. ET in Eugene, Oregon. Williams, who made his fourth appearance in the event at the East preliminary after qualifying with a time of 8:30.83, is advancing to the NCAA semifinals for the third time. The 2025 SoCon Steeplechase Champion, he finished 11th in the NCAA finals in 2023.
VMI's Midgett completes NCAA triple jump run
The Portsmouth, Virginia, native placed 44th overall in the triple jump event with a distance of 14.48 meters, or 47-6.25, the 10th-best distance in his flight.
Samford's Franklin Qualifies to NCAA Track and Field Championship
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Samford men's and women's track and field team had nine individuals compete this week at the NCAA Championship East Regional hosted by North Florida after winning the Southern Conference Championship as a team in their last meet. Of the athletes competing for the Bulldogs, Bradley Franklin continues his stellar freshman campaign as he has qualified for the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor Track Championships.
