Chattanooga’s Huff named SoCon Player of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga guard Honor Huff has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Jan. 27-Feb. 2. The award is selected by the league office.
 

Huff began the week with 25 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals in an 84-60 victory at Western Carolina on Jan. 29. The junior shot 9-for-15 from the field, including 7-for-11 from behind the arc, against the Catamounts. On Feb. 1, the native of Brooklyn, New York, recorded 16 points, two rebounds and two assists during Chattanooga’s 93-84 comeback win over Mercer. Huff made three 3-pointers against the Bears, moving him into fifth place in program history for 3-pointers made with 179.

For the week, Huff averaged 20.5 points, while shooting 54.2 percent from the field, 52.6 percent from beyond the arc and 100 percent from the charity stripe. Huff is currently second in the SoCon in 3-pointers made this season with 70.

Chattanooga (15-8, 7-3 SoCon) plays at Wofford (12-11, 6-4) on Feb. 5, before welcoming Furman (17-6, 5-5) on Feb. 8. The Mocs and Terriers game will be broadcast on ESPNU.
