Wofford hands Furman its first loss at home
WOF - The Wofford men's basketball team (9-8, 3-1) used a strong defensive effort to defeat the Furman Paladins (14-3, 2-2) 81-62 on Monday night at Bon Secours Wellness Arena. The Terriers held Furman to just 20 percent shooting in the first stanza as the team jumped out to a 20-point lead at end of the first half.
The 19-point win serves as the largest margin of victory against Furman since a 74-49 win in 2015. The Terriers handed Furman its first home loss of the year, and Wofford has now won five of its last six outings.
FUR - Dillon Bailey poured in 19 points and Corey Tripp scored 11 of his 16 points in the first half as Wofford led wire-to-wire en route to an 81-62 victory over Furman on Monday evening at Bon Secours Wellness Arena.
Wofford (9-8, 3-1 SoCon) scored the game's first eight points and reeled off a 27-8 run later in the opening half by holding the Paladins without a basket for over nine minutes before Charles Johnston hit a three at the buzzer to trim the deficit to 40-20 at the break. The Paladins shot just 20% in the opening half, including 2-for-17 behind the arc.
