ETSU’s Seymour named SoCon Player of the Week
Senior averaged a double-double for the week
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU forward Jaden Seymour has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Jan. 20-26. The award is selected by the league office.
Seymour, who also won the honor on Jan. 6, began his week with a career-high 34 points and a season-high 13 rebounds, logging his fifth double-double of the season in an 85-58 win over Western Carolina on Jan. 22. The senior’s 34 points also marked the highest scoring performance by any Buccaneer inside Freedom Hall, breaking teammate John Buggs III’s record of 33 points from earlier this season against VMI on New Year’s Day. On Jan. 25, the native of Charlotte, North Carolina, had 22 points, seven rebounds, two assists and a block in a 71-63 setback against Chattanooga.
For the week, Seymour averaged 28 points, 10.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks, while shooting 17-for-21 from the charity stripe. Seymour is currently second in the SoCon in scoring (17.7 ppg) and double-doubles (5).
