Mercer’s Robinson named SoCon Player of the Week
Senior logs a near triple-double in a road victory

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer guard Ahmad Robinson has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Dec. 23-29. The award is selected by the league office.
Robinson, who also won the honor on Dec. 2, led Mercer to a 71-68 win at Georgia State on Dec. 28. The senior shot 8-for-18 from the field, including a pair of makes from behind the arc, finishing with 21 points. The product of West Orange, New Jersey, also recorded 10 assists in the game, giving him his second double-double of the season, along with nine rebounds, three steals and a block. The game marked the fourth time Robinson scored 20 or points in a game this season and was the sixth time he had three steals in a contest.
Mercer (7-6) opens conference play against Chattanooga on New Year’s Day before traveling to VMI on Jan. 4.
