Chattanooga’s Frison named SoCon Player of the Week

Guard shoots over 70 percent in the final week of the regular season

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga guard Jordan Frison has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week presented by Ingles for all contests from Feb. 23-March 1. The award is selected by the league office.

Frison, who also won the award on Dec. 22, had an offensive explosion for Chattanooga in the Mocs’ final two games of the regular season. In an 85-80 setback versus UNCG on Feb. 26, the junior scored 28 points on 12-for-17 shooting, including a pair of makes from beyond the arc, along with three assists. Two days later, the native of Memphis, Tennessee, poured in 33 points, shooting 14-for-18 from the field as the Mocs defeated VMI, 86-79. Frison also had three rebounds and three assists against the Keydets.

For the week, Frison averaged 30.5 points, 3.0 assists and 2.5 rebounds per game, while shooting 74.3 percent from the field. Frison played 69 minutes in the two games, logging a 6-to-1 assist-to-turnover ratio.
