Wofford’s Tyler named SoCon Player of the Week
Guard has efficient game in Terriers’ last nonconference contest
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford guard Jayden Tyler has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Dec. 22-28. The award is selected by the league office.
Tyler logged a team-high 24 points in 16 minutes off the bench as Wofford defeated Union Commonwealth, 88-54, on Dec. 28. The freshman from Chicago, Illinois, was 7-for-8 from the field, including 5-for-6 from behind the arc, and 5-for-6 at the charity stripe in the game. For the season, Tyler is shooting 64.7 percent from 3-point range.
Wofford (8-5) opens its conference slate of games at Western Carolina on New Year’s Eve, before traveling to The Citadel on Jan. 3.
