Chattanooga’s Frison named SoCon Player of the Week
Guard played strong in a pair of road games
SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga guard Jordan Frison has been named the Southern Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Week for all contests from Dec. 15-21. The award is selected by the league office.
Frison recorded 20 points, four assists, three rebounds and a steal in the Mocs’ setback at Bellarmine on Dec. 17. The junior followed that up with his best game of the season, finishing with season highs in points (27) and rebounds (9) during Chattanooga’s 73-66 win at Alabama A&M on Dec. 21. The native of Memphis, Tennessee, also had five assists and two steals in the contest. Frison has scored 20-plus points in each of the last four games for the Mocs.
For the week, Frison averaged 23.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game, while committing just one turnover in 74 minutes of play.
Chattanooga (6-7) opens its conference slate of games on New Year’s Day at UNCG.
