2004 Softball Champs, the UTC Lady Mocs
CHATTANOOGA, TN -- Chattanoga scored three times in the top of the sixth inning and held on to top second-seeded College of Charleston, 5-4, to win the SoCon softball championship. For the top-seeded Lady Mocs, this tournament title is their fifth in a row and eighth in the last nine seasons.

All nine Chattanooga batters stepped to the plate in the decisive sixth inning, starting with singles by Melissa Ramirez and Leslie Barron. Robyn Johnson reached on an error to load the bases with no outs. Grace Pickett then singled to right, scoring Ramirez. With still no outs in the inning, Amanda Hoiness was hit by a Natalie Smith pitch, scoring pinch runner Lindsay Galloway. Johnson then scored on a wild pitch to give Chattanooga a 5-2 lead before Smith was able to strike out the next two batters, getting out of the bases-loaded jam.
