Eagles Split With No. 9 Ranked Florida State

Statesboro, Ga. -- The Georgia Southern softball team rallied in the bottom of the seventh in game two by scoring two runs to upset No. 9 nationally ranked Florida State Saturday afternoon at Eagle Field.

The Seminoles dominated Georgia Southern in game one winning 7-2. Florida State went up 6-0 in the fifth as Brandy Stuart manufactured a run for the Tribe. Stuart reached on a fielder's choice and then moved up to second on a wild pitch. She proceeded to steal third where the throw from the catcher sailed into left field allowing Stuart to score her second run of the game.

After GSU added two runs in the bottom of the sixth, which ended the Eagles 37 inning scoreless streak versus Florida State, Stuart struck again in the top of the next inning. The California native recorded her first hit of the year, a single up the middle, and proceeded to steal second and third before another errant attempted pick off allowed her to score FSU's seventh run of the game.
