SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Mercer’s Tobias Jonsson has been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for all competitions from April 3-9. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Jonsson won the Augusta Haskins Invitational in Augusta, Georgia, which wrapped play on Sunday. The senior posted rounds of 71-68-68 for a tournament score of 207 (-9). The native of Huddinge, Sweden, led the field in par-4 scoring (3.77) and was one of 12 golfers to record an eagle during the event. Jonsson’s victory was his seventh individual tournament title of his collegiate career.
 
Mercer finished 13th at the Augusta Haskins Invitational in the 15-team, 78-golfer field, with a tournament score of 888. The Bears shot 306 in the first round, 300 in the second round and 282 in the final round.
 
The Bears will be back in action in Greensboro, Georgia, at the SoCon Men’s Golf Championship on April 21-23.
