SPARTANBURG, SC – Chattanooga sophomore
Evan Rogers and UNC Greensboro graduate student
B.J. Boyce were named Men’s SoCon Co-Golfers of the Week for tournaments played between September 30-October 6.
Both men captured medalist honors at their respective events. Both Rogers and Boyce also earned SoCon Golfer of the Week for the second time this fall – powering a growing trend of success on the links for SoCon golf. The conference has a combined seven individual medalist crowns so far this season.
Rogers (Duluth, GA) won his second tournament of the fall season, blistering the 7,617-yard Trinity Forest Golf Club in Dallas, TX, to win the 2026 Trinity Forest Invitational hosted by SMU. He scored in the 60s in all three rounds (68-69-63) and tied his career-best score over 54 holes relative to par. His final round of 63 included nine birdies and an eagle on No. 16, with six birdies coming on the front nine.
Rogers led the tournament with 19 birdies and a 4.25 scoring average on Par 5 holes. He beat the field’s scoring average in the final round by nearly eight strokes. The Mocs finished third in the team race, five strokes in front of Baylor and four strokes behind Southern Cal. Conference rival ETSU won the men’s team title, paced by sophomore
Oli Blackadder – who finished in fourth-place effort individually.
Boyce (Fort Bragg, NC) started well at the 2026 Blessings Collegiate Invitational in Fayetteville, AR, carding a first round 71 and overcame a tough second round with a sizzling 64 over the final 18 holes to capture medalist honors. Boyce’s final round included eight birdies and no bogeys, giving him 10 birdies for the tournament. He added a pair of eagles to help the Spartans finish second in the team standings behind host Arkansas. He beat the field scoring average on all three days and was nearly 10 strokes lower than the average round on his final day. Boyce led the event with his pair of eagles and ranked second with 35 pars. Boyce also had the fewest bogeys (5) of any golfer in the tournament.
