SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Wofford’s Matthew Larkin has been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Feb. 15-21. The selection is made by the league office.
Larkin finished first at the Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate, which wrapped play on Tuesday, to grab his first collegiate tournament win. The native of Atlanta, Georgia, posted rounds of 68-68-69 for a tournament score of 11-under-par 205. Larkin notched the third-best score in relation to par in program history during the event. With the win, the senior now has three top-5 finishes and six top-10 finishes during his time as a Terrier.
Wofford won the 16-team, 91-golfer Mickey Mouse Intercollegiate by turning in a 12-under-par 852 performance, finishing the tournament as the only team under par. The Terriers shot 285 in the first round, 283 in the second and 284 in the final round.
Wofford will be back in action on March 6-7 in the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, South Carolina.
