SCOTTSDALE, Ariz. – It was another laboring day on the Raptor Course at Grayhawk Golf Club as the wind was circling throughout the day and temperatures were in the 100s yet again. Only two teams finished under par today and it is no coincidence that it was top-ranked Oklahoma and second-ranked Oklahoma State. ETSU finished the second round with a team score of 28-over-par (308), currently sitting in a tie for 27th on the team leaderboard.
The low round of the day for the Bucs belonged to Archie Davies (Carlisle, England) with a 6-over-par (76). The Welsh golfer posted two birdies to close his opening nine, but a trio of double bogeys hindered his play in round two. Davies unfortunately posted book-end double bogeys in his round today and is now 11-over-par for the event.
Ben Carberry (Bonnybridge, Scotland) and Mats Ege (Kristiansand, Norway) both finished with a score of 77 (+7) in the second round. Like Davies, Ege finished his opening nine with a pair of birdies to make the turn at 3-over-par. Unfortunately for Ege, seven bogeys saw him drop down the individual leaderboard as the Norwegian golfer is now 9-over-par for the event. Carberry ended his round on a strong note, finishing 1-under-par in his final six holes of action. However, the Scotland native posted a 5-over-par front nine as he struggled out of the gate.
The final countable score came from Algot Kleen (Fiskebackskil, Sweden) with an 8-over-par (78). Despite a pair of triple bogeys on the front nine, Kleen played the remaining holes at a modest 2-over-par.
