STATESBORO, GA. – Brothers Walker Crosby (-2) and Jack Crosby (-2) each fired a 70 to tie for 12th to lead the Furman men's golf team (-4) to a share of seventh place after Saturday's second round of the 42nd Schenkel Invitational at the par 70, 7,123-yard Forest Heights Country Club in Statesboro, Ga.

Walker, a senior, eagled the par-5 No. 7 and turned at 1-under then recorded a team-high four birdies, all on the back nine, for a 70 in the second round, while Jack, a junior, birdied No. 7 to also turn at 1-under then added birdies on No. 12 and No. 18.   

Junior Sam Lape (E) is tied for 27th after posting a 76 with a birdie on No. 7 on Saturday, while junior Ross Funderburke (+2) carded an even 72 with three birdies to tie for 40th.  Freshman Will Morlan (+4) is in 51st place after scoring a 75 with three birdies in round two. 

Tournament host Georgia Southern (-20) continues to lead the tournament by two rounds.  The Eagles hold a 10-stroke lead over Kentucky (-10), while 17th-ranked Notre Dame (-9) is in third place.  No. 39 UAB (-7), College of Charleston (-7), and Cincinnati (-7) are tied for fourth place, while Furman (-4) and No. 50 West Virginia (-4) are tied for seventh.  The Paladins are two strokes ahead of Virginia Tech (-2) and Iowa (-2).  Charleston's Kieron van Wyk (-10) leads the individual race by two strokes after carding rounds of 66-68=134.

The final round of the 54-hole tournament is set for Sunday, beginning at 8:30 a.m.  Furman will tee off of No. 1 and will play in a group of with Virginia Tech and West Virginia.  Admission to the tournament is free and fans are welcome.  Live tournament scoring will also be available via www.golfstat.com.
