SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Walker Crosby has been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Sept. 28 to Oct. 4. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Crosby finished tied for second at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas, Texas, which wrapped play Tuesday. The senior from Memphis, Tennessee, posted rounds of 72-68-65 for a tournament score of 11-under-par 205. The 65 that Crosby shot in the third round is the best round of his Paladin career. Crosby began the final round in ninth place before his career-best round catapulted him into a tie for second.

Furman finished the Trinity Forest Invitational fourth in the 17-team, 90-golfer field, with a 19-under-par 845 performance. The Paladins shot 283 in the first round, 282 in the second and 280 in the final round.

The Paladins will play their next tournament in Johnson City, Tennessee, as they will participate in ETSU’s Bank of Tennessee Intercollegiate on Oct. 9-11. Six SoCon teams will be in action this upcoming week, including Mercer, Western Carolina and Wofford competing in Spartanburg, South Carolina, for the Carolina Cup, hosted by the Terriers and USC Upstate, from Oct. 9-11.
