SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Chattanooga’s Paul Conroy has been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Oct. 12-18. The selection is made by the league office.
 
Conroy was the medalist at the Wolfpack Intercollegiate, which wrapped play on Sunday. The junior from Enniscorthy, Ireland, posted rounds of 70-74-62 for a career-best tournament score of 10-under-par 206. The 62 that Conroy shot in round three is tied for the lowest individual round in Chattanooga history. Conroy’s final-round performance was the catalyst for him coming back from eight shots down on the final day to win his first collegiate tournament.

Chattanooga won the 14-team, 84-golfer Wolfpack Intercollegiate with a 17-under-par 847 performance. The Mocs shot 286 in the first round, 289 in the second and 272 in the final round.

Chattanooga will play its next tournament in Greenville, South Carolina, as the Mocs participate in the Furman Intercollegiate, hosted by the Paladins, on Oct. 22-23. Samford will also be participating in the Furman Intercollegiate. ETSU is the other SoCon squad that will be in action this week as its travels to Alpharetta, Georgia, to play in the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate.
