SAITAMA, Japan – Former ETSU men’s golfer Adrian Meronk was part of the final group to tee off in the second round of the 2020 Olympics at Kasumigaseki East Course in Saitama, Japan.
 
The Poland native was able to complete 14 holes of action before weather made its way to the region, halting play until early Saturday morning (Friday afternoon in the United States). Play will resume at 6:45 p.m. (ET) with all players resuming in position. The third round will approximately commence around 8:30 p.m. (ET) on the first and 10th tees in hopes to wrap up round three on time.
 
Meronk kicked off his second round with back-to-back pars before carding his first bogey of the day on the third hole. Five holes later, the Poland product drew back to even par with a birdie on the par-5 eighth hole, making the turn at even-par (36).
 
The 11th hole reared its ugly head for the second consecutive day against Meronk as the former Buccaneer dropped back to 1-over-par with a bogey. Meronk then slipped to 2-over-par on the very next hole but responded with a birdie on the par-4 13th hole. Meronk will resume play on the 15th hole, sitting at 1-over-par for the day and 2-over-par for the event.
 
The United States’ Xander Schauffele is currently sitting atop the leaderboard with a tournament score of 11-under-par, having completed his second round with a score of 63 (-8).
