ETSU's Chartier named Men's Golfer of the Week

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – ETSU’s Remi Chartier has been selected as the Southern Conference Men’s Golfer of the Week for all competition from Oct. 27 to Nov. 2. The selection is made by the league office and is the sixth one of the season.
 
Chartier earns his second weekly honor this season after posting his second top-10 finish with his 6-under-par 210 performance at the White Sands Bahamas Invitation in Nassau, Bahamas. The redshirt sophomore posted a 1-over 73 on the first day before shooting his fourth sub-70 round of the season on the second day with a 5-under 67 to advance 24 spots up the leaderboard into solo fourth place. In the final 18 holes of the tournament, Chartier fired a 2-under 70 round to finish tied for fourth with Little Rock’s Magnus Lomholt. The native of Montreal, Canada, finished third in the field in par-4 scoring at 2-under-par and finished tied for 15th in the field in birdies with 12.
 
The Buccaneers finished second in the 12-team, 73-golfer field, completing the tournament with a 15-under 849 performance. ETSU shot 293 in the first round, 280 in the second, and 276 in the final round, grabbing wins over San Francisco (-13), Little Rock (-13), South Florida (-12), and Lipscomb (-8). ETSU’s 276 in the final round was the lowest of the day and also tied the lowest score of the tournament. The Buccaneers were able to advance up the leaderboard with their final two rounds, carding a total of 20-under in the final to round to finish behind Ole Miss.
 
The eight SoCon men’s golf teams have concluded fall play and will return to action in February.
