GREENVILLE, S.C. – Furman’s Jack Crosby won individual medalist honors at the 105th Tennessee Amateur Championship this past weekend at the Hillwood Country Club in Nashville, Tennessee.
 
Crosby, a rising junior from Memphis, Tennessee, carded rounds of 67-68-70-69 to shoot a 14-under 274, winning the tournament by three strokes.
 
“I’m just really happy for Jack,” Furman head coach Matt Davidson said. “He’s worked so hard on his game and has been on the verge of a big win like this for a while. Winning any state amateur is a great accomplishment with a lot of history attached, and the field Jack beat in Tennessee last week was especially competitive. It was an awesome win that he will be able to build on for sure.”
 
The 2019 SoCon Freshman of the Year, Crosby notched four top-20 finishes last year for the Paladins, highlighted by a tie for 12th place at the River Run Collegiate. As a freshman in 2018-19, Crosby captured individual medalist accolades at both the Camden Collegiate Invitational and Wofford Invitational.
 
“This past week at the Tennessee Amateur Championship was nothing short of incredible,” said Crosby. “Throughout the tournament, I felt like all aspects of my game were on point. I was really happy with how I handled myself on the course by playing fearless golf and capitalizing on the opportunities I created. I’m extremely grateful to have my name placed among so many great players from the state of Tennessee and I look forward to using this experience as a building block for the years to come.”
