ETSU alum Kim wins Korean Tour Q School

Fully exempt for KPGA Tour in 2020

JOHNSON CITY, Tenn. – Former ETSU alum Geuntae Kim becomes the second Buccaneer in two weeks to earn his tour card. The native of Daegu, South Korea, joins Adrian Meronk in the tour-card category after claiming the victory at the Korean Tour Q School on Friday, Nov. 15.

With his win at Q School, Kim is now fully exempt for the Korean PGA Tour for the 2020 season, including all majors. Kim claimed the Q School title after carding rounds of 66 (-5), 74 (+3), 67 (-4) and an even-par 71 in the final round to fend off the field. Kim was one of only seven golfers to score under par for the event, finishing with a 6-under-par 278.

Kim competed for the Bucs for four seasons (2015-2019) and claimed two individual titles, including finishing first in the Southern Conference Championship in 2017. Kim also laid claim to the Wofford Invitational in April 2018 for his other individual title.
