MOBILE, Ala. – The Chattanooga Mocs are tied for 13th after 36 holes at the Mobile Sports Authority Intercollegiate. The Mocs’ 584 total is the second-best of the 2019-20 season and matched Western Kentucky.
 
Moritz Lammel led the Chattanooga contingent on day one. He opened with an even-par 72 and closed with 1-under 71. His 1-under 143 is tied for 29th, one ahead of teammate Will Porter.
 
Porter shook off a tough start. He bogeyed his first four holes and was 5-over through nine when he flipped the script. A birdie on the 16th, his 10th hole in a shotgun start, was the first of four to get back to 1-over 73 for round one. He carded 71 in the afternoon to sit at level-par 144.
 
A.J. Lintunen also had a consistent scoring day. His first card read 73 followed by 72. His 145 total is tied for 43rd, one behind Porter. Dominic Jones shot 152, while Leon Bader ended the day at 155.
 
Texas State set the pace with 553 Monday. Florida State is second with 559. The Bobcats’ Calvin Ross is the individual leader at 12-under. Tuesday’s final round is scheduled to start at 9:50 a.m. Eastern time off the 10th tee.
