SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Furman’s Grace Pollak and Mercer’s Iseabal Cryne have been named the Southern Conference women’s lacrosse offensive and defensive players of the week, respectively, for all competition March 5- 11. 

A junior attacker from Ellicott City, Maryland, Pollak was a pivotal part of the Paladins win over Campbell and efforts in a loss against Liberty this past week. Pollak total 11 goals on 16 shots and 12 shots on goal. Six of her 11 goals came in Furman’s comeback win over Campbell on Wednesday while her other five goals came Saturday.

Cryne, a native of Milton, Delaware, was named the defensive player of the week. The sophomore recorded 15 saves while notching a season-high four ground balls and one caused turnover. She picked up her first win of the season against St. Bonaventure on Sunday.

The Paladins are back in action on Friday as they welcome Butler, while the Bears are back in action Tuesday afternoon as they welcome Colgate.

Also nominated for offensive player of the week: Jocelyn Lemay (Central Michigan) and Eva Thorn (Mercer).

Also nominated for defensive player of the week: Hope Murray (Central Michigan).
