SEA ISLAND, Ga. – Furman's Keller Harper (+3) tied for ninth this weekend at the Jones Cup Invitational at the par-72, 7,321-yard Ocean Forest Golf Club.

Harper, a junior from Atlanta, Georgia, carded a 77 with a birdie on No. 14 then added a 70 with birdies on holes No. 4, 14, and 16 in the tournament's second round. The third round was canceled due to inclement weather. Akshay Bhatia (-2) of Wake Forest, North Carolina, won the event with a two-round total of 72-70=142.

The 2018 Southern Conference Player of the Year, Harper led the Paladins with a 72.2 stroke average over 33 rounds last season. He boasts a 70.5 stroke average over 14 rounds so far in the 2018-19 season and has three top-five finishes in five tournaments played.
