GREENSBORO, N.C. – UNC Greensboro senior men's golfer Jonathan Brightwell will be one of 84 elite collegiate golfers playing in the Patriot All-America Invitational from Sunday to Tuesday. The Patriot All-America Invitational, played at the Wigwam Resort in Litchfield, Arizona, features the highest-performing athletes from all divisions of men's collegiate golf. During this unique event, each student-athlete honors a fallen or severely injured soldier by carrying a bag bearing his or her name throughout the event.

Brightwell will be honoring Army Major Larry J. Bauguess Jr. of Moravian Falls, North Carolina, who was assigned to the 4th Special Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division based in Fort Bragg, and served during Operation ENDURING FREEDOM. Major Bauguess lost his life on May 14, 2007, in Pakistan.
