Furman to host 2020 women's lacrosse championship

The championship returns to Greenville for the second straight year

SPARTANBURG, S.C. – The site of the 2020 Southern Conference Women’s Lacrosse Championship has been changed to Paladin Stadium on the campus of Furman University in Greenville, South Carolina. The tournament will take place April 30 and May 2.

The Paladins will play host for the second consecutive year after hosting last year’s edition, which saw Mercer take a thrilling 15-14 contest over Furman for its second straight title.

The SoCon Women’s Lacrosse Championship features the top four seeds, with semifinals on Thursday and the championship final on Saturday.

The 2020 Southern Conference women’s lacrosse season begins play Friday, Feb. 7, with Detroit Mercy, Furman and Mercer all opening the season with nonconference matchups. Detroit Mercy and Mercer will travel to face Northwestern and High Point, respectively, while Furman will play host to East Carolina.
