Samford finishes 12th at Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate

JONESBORO, Ark. – The Samford men's golf team finished 12th in the Bubba Barnett Intercollegiate, hosted by Arkansas State at the Ridge Pointe Country Club (par-72, 6,676 yards), Monday and Tuesday.

Samford finished with a three-round score of 909 (298-307-304). Arkansas State won the event with a team score of 838 (273-276-289).

Samford was led individually by Alec Stopperich, who tied for 18th with a final score of 219 (72-75-72). Harlan Winn tied for 41st with a mark of 226 (73-78-75), while Alex Markham tied for 49th at 229 (74-76-79).

Austin Rains finished in a tie for 64th with a three-round score of 236 (80-78-78). Jackson Seawell came in at 72nd with a mark of 246 (79-83-84). George Hall, playing as an individual, finished 68th with a three-round score of 239 (79-78-72).

Matthew Cole of Arkansas State earned individual medalist honors. Cole finished with a three-round score of 206 (66-71-69).

Samford will return to action April 9-10 when the Bulldogs compete in the Ryman Hospitality Invitational in Nashville, Tenn.
