RICHMOND, Ky. – Justin Connelly fired back-to-back sub-par rounds Saturday and Mercer was the only team in the 18-team field to card a sub-par opening round as action began at the EKU Intercollegiate. Connelly is tied for third at 2-under 138, while the Bears are tied for fourth as a team after two rounds with a score of 567.

Strong winds made Saturday’s back-to-back rounds challenging for the field on the par-70 course.

Stanton Schorr is tied for 24th at 2-over 142, with Kiko Rosete two shots back and tied for 36th. Hayes rule is another two shots back at 6-over 146, tied for 54th, and Jerry Ren is tied for 59th another stroke back.

Mercer enters the final day and final round of the EKU Intercollegiate 15 strokes back of the lead. The Bears will be paired with host Eastern Kentucky, Cleveland State and Ohio over the final 18 holes, starting with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m.
