GULF SHORES, Ala. – The Samford men’s golf team finished in a tie for seventh at the ASU Fall Beach Classic, held Sunday and Tuesday at The Peninsula Golf and Racquet Club.

The tournament was originally scheduled to include 54 holes, Sunday through Tuesday, but the event was shorted to 36 holes due to inclement weather on Monday. Samford finished with a two-round score of 596 (304-292), tying the Bulldogs with UT Martin. Arkansas State won the tournament with a score of 582 (293-289).

Senior Zach Hughes led Samford, finishing in a tie for sixth with a tournament total score of 144 (71-73). Freshman Aaron Walker tied for 23rd with a two-round total of 149 (78-71). Fellow freshmen Crawford Flach (80-72) and Jackson Seawell (76-76) both tied for 37th at 152. Garrett Moores tied for 50th with a score of 157 (79-78).

The tournament wrapped up the fall season for Samford.

Samford had one player who played as an individual. Austin Rains tied for 59th with a two-day score of 163 (82-81).

Graysen Huff of Auburn took individual medalist honors, finishing with a score of 140 (71-69). Arkansas State’s Andrew Huseman came in second at 142 (73-69).
