Dodge City posted the highest overall team GPA for all divisions with a 3.82.

This is the sixth year of the award, and the Bucs have won the award in each of the six years.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the GPAs for each player on its official squad list for the academic year. The team must have at least a cumulative 3.0 GPA.

Mercer named GCAA All-Academic Team, earns Presidential Special Recognition

NORMAN, Okla. – The Mercer University men's golf team garnered All-Academic Team honors for the second straight year from the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) on Wednesday, as the organization announced the 141 teams with a cumulative grade-point average (GPA) above 3.0.

The Bears received Presidential Special Recognition status, which is given to programs that have eclipsed a 3.5 GPA. Mercer was one of just 11 NCAA Division I teams and among 20 nationally on the prestigious list.

Last week, Mercer's James Beale became the first golfer in program history to repeat as a Cleveland/Srixon All-America Scholar. To receive the honor, student-athletes must maintain a minimum GPA above 3.2.

The team academic award adds to a decorated 2014 season for the Bears, who also claimed the 2014 Atlantic Sun title and made their NCAA Regional debut.

UNCG named GCAA All-Academic Team

NORMAN, Okla. – The UNCG men’s golf program was named an All-Academic Team by the Golf Coaches Association of America presented by Farmers Insurance (GCAA) for the fourth straight year. The Spartans are one of 141 teams across all NCAA levels and just one of 82 NCAA Division I teams recognized for having a team GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Spartans placed three members on the Southern Conference All-Academic Team this season, given to student-athletes with cumulative GPA on 3.3 or higher. Senior Roy Dixon led the way with a 3.97 GPA, while senior Alex Ehlert posted a 3.75 GPA and junior Luke Haithcock has a 3.45 GPA.

Additionally, the Spartans had five of their seven members on the SoCon Academic Honor Roll this season, which is awarded to student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA in the 2013-14 academic year. Joining Dixon, Ehlert, and Haithcock on the honor roll were sophomore Carter Jenkins and redshirt sophomore William Thomas.
