SPARTANBURG, S.C. – Georgia Southern sophomore Scott Wolfes has been named the first Southern Conference men’s golfer of the week for the spring season. The selection is made by the league office and includes all competition through Feb. 26.

Wolfes posted a pair of runner-up finishes to kick off the spring campaign, leading the way for the Eagles at the SunTrust Gator Invitational and the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate.

The St. Simons Island, Ga., matched his career low with a second-round 66, matching the fourth-lowest round in school history and helping Georgia Southern finish seventh in the 14-team field, which included six ranked squads and six ranked individuals.

At the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C., on Feb. 18-19, Wolfes shot 2-under 214 to tie for second place in the 90-player field.
