ST. GEORGE, Utah – The College of Charleston men’s golf team made two birdies on the final hole of the tournament but came up a bit short in its attempt in taking the title as it finished second at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite on Tuesday at the Sunbrook Golf Club.

Sophomore Zach Munroe finished in a three-way tie for first after shooting rounds of 71 and 71 for a 2-under 172. It took seven playoff holes to decide a winner and Camden Price from Cal Poly made par and Munroe bogeyed to determine the winner.

The Cougars shot rounds of 286 and 299 for a 9-over 585, coming up one shot short of Cal Poly at 8-over.

Junior Alex Ellis fired a second-round 74 for a total score of 144 and finished tied for fourth place in the tournament.

Freshman Josh Lorenzetti and senior John Duke Hudson finished tied for 21st and 25^th, respectively. Freshman Jackson Moore rounded out the lineup for the Cougars as he finished tied for 71st place.

Sophomore Shane Rogan, competing as an individual, shot rounds of 75 and 77 and finished tied for 41st place and was the seventh-best individual finisher.

Up next, the Cougars host the Charleston Shootout at Stono Ferry in Hollywood, S.C., March 4-5.
