JASPER, Ala. - Woodie Eubanks, who is in the midst of his 10th season as Samford's men's golf coach, proved to be one of only three players to earn a spot in the prestigious U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship, which will be played Sept. 8-13, at Conway Farms Golf Club in Lake Forest, Ill.
Eubanks, along with Alan Coshatt and Bobby Brent III, were the only three players out of a field of 75 to claim the three spots in qualifying play at the Musgrove Country Club in Jasper.
A native of Trussville, Eubanks has won the State Mid-Amateur, State Four Ball (with Forrest Crabtree) and has been State Club Team individual champion. He fired a 68 this week to claim a spot in the prestigious 2012 U.S. Mid-Amateur Championship.
