SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Samford junior Casey O'Toole has been selected as the Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for all competition from February 29 - March 6.
O'Toole helped guide the Bulldogs to a first-place finish at the 2012 Samford Intercollegiate on Tuesday as he earned Individual Medalist honors by carding a five-under-par 211.
His second-round score of 66 proved to be the best round of the tournament and set the low-round record at Hoover Country Club. A native of Oneonta, Ala., O'Toole's five-under-par total tied his season-best mark, while his 66 was the second-lowest round of his collegiate career.
Other top performers this week were Henry Smart (College of Charleston), Richard Fountain (Davidson), Matt Broome (Furman), Lewis Gruber (Georgia Southern) and Steven Fox (Chattanooga).
