KIAWAH ISLAND, S.C. – The College of Charleston men’s golf team shot the third-best round of the day Monday to move into second place after the second round of the Kiawah Classic.

Led by sophomore Zach Munroe, who shot even-par, the Cougars (+14) shot 8-over as a team and are seven shots back of leader South Carolina (+7) going into the final round Tuesday.

Munroe, who made six birdies in the second round, is tied for the individual lead at even-par with three other golfers after rounds of 71-71=142 in the tournament.

Junior Alex Ellis carded a round of 73 and is tied for fourth place at 1-over. Freshman Josh Lorenzetti rebounded from an opening-round 77 to shoot 1-over 72 in the second round.
