Norfolk, England - College of Charleston senior Henry Smart finished ahead of 114 golfers as he captured the Tillman Trophy this week at the Hunstanton Golf Club.
Smart, a native of Epsom Surrey, England shot 72-69-74-67=282 for a course record and two stroke victory.
Smart transferred to CofC from the University of Virginia where he was the Cavaliers' No. 2 finisher at the NCAA East Regional this past year and tied a course record at the Honors Course with a 6-under 66 during the second round of the 2010 NCAA Championships.
The Tillman Trophy is named in honor of businessman and Surrey golfer Bill Tillman.
After winning the Tillman Trophy, Smart still has a busy summer including the English Amateur Championship next week and coming back to the United States on Aug. 4 for the United States Amateur Championship Qualifier.
