About the Championship

The 2014 Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship will take place on Friday, Nov. 7, and Sunday, Nov. 9, in Cullowhee, N.C. The 21st annual Southern Conference Women's Soccer Championship will be held at the Catamount Athletic Complex. The first round will see seeds 7-10 play at the higher seeds on Wednesday, Oct. 29. The quarterfinals will be hosted by the top four seeds on Saturday, Nov. 1, or Sunday, Nov. 2. Those games will determine who advances to the semifinals in Cullowhee, N.C.

Last year, No. 1 seed Furman got a pair of unassisted goals late in regulation to take a 3-1 win over No. 2 seed Elon in the title match of the Southern Conference Women’s Soccer Championship at Wofford’s Snyder Field. With the win, the Paladins earned the SoCon’s automatic bid to the NCAA Championship. They took on ninth-ranked South Carolina in the first round, falling 5-0.
