SPARTANBURG, S.C. - Chattanooga freshman Benni Weilguni has been selected as the Southern Conference Men's Golfer of the Week for all competition from March 2-8.
Weilguni recorded his first career top-five finish after placing fourth this week at the Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate in Aiken, S.C.
He opened the three-round event with a career-best 67 (-3) and finished with an even-par 210 for the event. A native of Langelois, Austria, Weilguni helped Chattanooga finish in a tie for fourth in the 18-team event that included six top 50 teams.
Another top performer this week was Samford's Martin Bunt.
