Jaeger & Weilguni Lead Chattanooga at Linger Longer Invitational
Mocs are ahead of two top 15 programs heading into Tuesday's final round
GREENSBORO, Ga.---The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga is in second place after Monday's one-over par round of 289 at the Great Waters Course at Reynolds Plantation. Chattanooga has a 36-hole total of three-under par 573.
Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) carded his second straight 69 (-3), third in his last four rounds, to move to six under, 138. He is in third place in the medalist chase behind Alabama's Cory Whitsett (132) and Bud Cauley (137).
Benni Weilguni (Langelois, Austria) continued his strong play with a two-under par 70. Weilguni had four birdies and 12 pars dotting his card. He is tied for fourth, one shot behind Jaeger, tied with Stanford's Andrew Yun at minus five, 139. Yun is the tourney's highest-ranked player at No. 6 on Golfstat.
The Mocs trail No. 4 Alabama by 11 at 14-under par 562. The Crimson Tide posted the low round of the tournament firing 10-under par 278. No. 15 Stanford is in third two behind Chattanooga at 575 (-1), while No. 13 Georgia is another five strokes back in fourth at 580 (+4).
Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) and Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) rounded out the team scoring with identical rounds of 75 (+3). Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) had the drop score with a 77 (+5).
Fox is tied for 19th at 147 (+3). He is three strokes out of the top 10. Bunn and Robb are both tied for 39th at plus seven, 151.
The Mocs return to the course at 10 a.m., Tuesday once again playing with Alabama and Stanford. Robb leads off No. 1 followed by Bunn (10:09), Fox (10:18), Weilguni (10:27) and Jaeger (10:36). Follow live scoring at GoMocs.com.

Hobbs Leads Apps at Linger Longer Invitational
GREENSBORO, Ga. - Appalachian State University men's golf completed the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational at The Great Waters Golf Course at Reynolds Plantation on Monday afternoon. The Mountaineers rank 13th at 309-308=617 (+41) heading into Tuesday's final round.
Senior Colin Hobbs leads Appalachian at 76-76=152 (+8) in 46th place through two rounds.
He is followed by a trio of Apps in 56th place at 155 (+11), as Josh Nichols (77-78), Darren Cook (78-77) andDustin Hudson (78-77) carded consistent rounds on the first 36 holes of competition.
Daniel Walsh rounds out the group at 91-84=175 (+31) in 74th place.
Alabama leads the field at 284-278=562 (-14). The Crimson Tide's Cory Whitsett is the individual leader with rounds of 64-68=132 (-12).
Chattanooga ranks second, 11 strokes back. Also from the Southern Conference, Furman stands just six strokes ahead of ASU in 12th place.
The third round begins Tuesday morning. Following the completion of the tournament, the Mountaineers turn their attention to the Wofford Invitational on April 11-12 in Spartanburg, S.C.
Furman in 12th Place At Linger Longer Invitational
Greensboro, Ga. - J.B. Murphy posted a one-over 73 and Greg Carrier carded a 74 to lead Furman during the second round of the Linger Longer Invitational at the par-72 Reynolds Plantation-Great Waters Golf Course on Monday morning.
Murphy, a Columbia, S.C., native, improved on an opening round 79 by notching a birdie at No. 13 and recording an eagle at the par-five No. 2. Carrier tallied two birdies over his first eight holes on his way to a two-over 74 that moved the Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla., native into the top 40 after two rounds.
Junior Anthony Aloi (72-76=148) shot four-over 76 and holds a share of 20th place entering the final round of the 54-hole tournament.
The University of Alabama (-14) shot a 10-under 278 on Monday to open up an 11-stroke lead on first round co-leader Chattanooga (-1). Stanford (-1), Georgia (+4) and Florida State (+8) round out the top five in the 13-team field that includes five of the top-50 ranked teams in the nation. Furman (+35) is in 12th place after 36 holes.
The Crimson Tide's Corey Whitsett (64-68=132) continues to lead the tournament at 12-under par. He holds a five-stroke advantage on teammate Bud Cauley (-7) who moved into second place with a 7-under 65 on Monday.
Final round action is slated to get underway on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m.

Cougars Continue Play at Hootie
AWENDAW, S.C. - Senior Coy Breen rebounded from an opening round score of 82 to shoot a two-over 73 to lead the College of Charleston Men's Golf team in the second round of the Hootie at Bulls Bay Intercollegiate Tournament.
The Cougars are currently in 15th place after two rounds of play, shooting 306 in the opening round and an improvement to 302 in their second round. Augusta State is the team leader with a five-under 563.
The teams continued to play through challenging conditions as there were two delays on the day, one for lightning and another for rain.
Junior Seth Stuart is the Cougars top player and sits in 35th place with a four-over 146. Stuart rebounded from playing the first four holes of the second round at four-over and came back to par each of the next 14 holes.
