Norton Sits 11-Under to Lead First-Place Elon at Sea Trail
 
SUNSET BEACH, N.C. -- Tanner Norton shot a three-under 69 to sit 11-under-par after two rounds to remain in first place and help put Elon in the top spot after the second round of the Sea Trail Men's Intercollegiate. Elon posted a two-day score of 559 (275-284) and sits 12 strokes ahead of second-place High Point with a score of 571 (288-283). George Mason sits two strokes behind in third place with a 573 (286-287) while Charleston Southern is currently fourth with a score of 574 (288-286) and Samford sits in fifth place with a 576 (281-295).

Elon's Stephen Dressel carded an even-par 72 to sit in a tie for fourth with a two-day score of 139 while Jack Adkins posted a two-under 70 on Saturday to sit tied for seventh with an overall score of 141. Leif Neijstrom is tied for 25th with a score of 146 after posting a 73 in the second round.

Elon's John Somers posted a 73 on Saturday and currently sits in a tie for 43rd with a score of 148. Teammate Dylan Morgan, playing as an individual, is tied with Somers after posted a 75 in the second round. Also playing as an individual, Clay Holland is tied for 63rd with a score of 155 after shooting a 76 on Saturday.

High Point's Chase Wilson, who recorded a hole-in-one on Saturday, tallied a 68 for the second straight day for an eight-under 136 to move up two spots and sit in second place. Teammates Curtis Brotherton (73-72) and D.J. Dougherty (74-71) are tied for 18th with a score of 145 while Nick Goins sits tied for 25th with a 146 (73-73).

Branson Real, Josh Apple and Casey Thompson of George Mason each posted a 72 on Saturday. Real sits in 10th place with a 142 while Apple is tied for 11th (143) and Thompson is tied at 13th (144). Joe Buttgereit recorded a one-under 71 to lead the Patriots in the second round. He now sits in a tie for 25th with a two-day score of 146.

Stetson's Sam Ryder sits in third place after posting a five-under 67, the lowest round of the day, for a score of 137. Jacobo Pastor of Charleston Southern carded a one-under 71 and sits tied with Dressel in fourth place. Guilford's Mat Hennick also tallied a 71 to move up a spot and sit in sixth place with a score of 140. Jonathan Rustin (73-68) of Charleston Southern and Chandler Brazeal (71-70) of Wofford are three-under par with a 141 to sit in a tie for seventh with Elon's Adkins.

The final round of the Sea Trail Men's Intercollegiate will get under way on Sunday, September 26 at 8:30 a.m.

Chattanooga Moves Up to Sixth at Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate

True freshman Davis Bunn shoots season-best 67 (-5)

FRANKLIN, Tenn. --- The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga men's golf team used a two-under par 282 to move into sixth place at the Mason Rudolph Intercollegiate at the Vanderbilt Legends Club.  The Mocs advanced two spots with a 36-hole score of 572 (+4), which is one shot behind Vanderbilt in fifth at 571.

Memphis is the leader at 558 (-10).  The Tigers' even-par 284 gives them a six-stroke lead over South Carolina at 564.  The Gamecocks' 279 (-5) is the only second round score lower than Chattanooga's 282.

True freshman Davis Bunn (Knoxville, Tenn.) had a phenomenal bounce-back from a tough opening round with a perfect four-under par 67 today.  He carded four birdies and 14 pars in what started out as a rather boring round.

Bunn scored par after par after par with 13 straight before four consecutive birdies on holes 14-17.  A par on 18 ended his day at minus four.

Steven Fox (Hendersonville, Tenn.) and Stephan Jaeger (Munich, Germany) navigated the par 71, 7,100-yard tract at level par, 71.  Jaeger had five birdies against five bogeys, while Fox posted four birdies and 11 pars to offset two bogeys and a double.

Chris Robb (Aberdeenshire, Scotland) continued his solid play with a two-over par 73.  Simon Forsslund (Stockholm, Sweden) had the drop score today with a three-over par 74.

Robb and Fox are tied for 29th at two-over 144.  Jaeger is tied for 35th, one shot back at 145.  Jack Belote of Memphis leads at 135, seven under.

Sunday's final round starts at 8:20 a.m. (CDT) with the Mocs paired with Vanderbilt and Ole Miss.  Bunn starts the proceedings followed by Forsslund (8:29), Jaeger (8:38), Fox (8:47) and Robb (8:56).
