ST. GEORGE, Utah ? College of Charleston men’s golf stands in second place after the first round of the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite on Monday. The Cougars are just three strokes behind host Southern Utah.
Charleston finished the first round with a five-over par score of 293. Close on its heels are Boise State, Utah State and UMKC, with a score of 294.
Senior Harrison Moore (Orangeburg, S.C./Calhoun) leads Charleston with a score of 70, two under par for the course. He ties for first alongside five other players. Moore shot 35 on the front nine and maintained his average on the back nine.
Currently tied for 10th place is sophomore Cabe Prieskorn (Texarkana, Texas/Texas Senior) with a one-over-par score of 73.
CofC finishes its first tournament of the spring 2010 season on Tuesday at the Sunbrook Golf Club.
