ELON, N.C. -- The Elon men's golf team will participate in six tournaments including the 2010 Southern Conference Championship during its upcoming spring campaign.  The Phoenix played five tournaments in the fall under the leadership of head coach Bill Morningstar.
 
The 2010 spring season will get under way on Feb. 22 as the Phoenix enters the field at the Wexford Plantation Intercollegiate hosted by Francis Marion in Hilton Head, S.C.  Following that two-day event, Elon heads to Aiken, S.C. for the 13th Annual Cleveland Golf Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by USC Aiken on March 8-9.
 
On March 19-21, Elon will play in the Furman Intercollegiate hosted by SoCon rival Furman in Greenville, S.C.  As the calendar turns to April, the Phoenix will participate in the Irish Creek Collegiate on April 3-4 in Kannapolis, N.C.  
 
In a final tune-up for the SoCon Championship, Elon will head to Spartanburg, S.C. for the Wofford Invitational on April 12-13.
 
The 2010 SoCon Championship will be held in Florence, S.C. from April 18-20 at The Country Club of South Carolina.
 
Throughout the season, Elon and the rest of the SoCon men's golf teams will be participating in "Eagles for Haiti," a pledge drive that has asked sponsors to donate money toward the recovery efforts in the earthquake-struck Caribbean nation.  In this effort, sponsors donate money to the Red Cross for each eagle made by a SoCon golfer this spring.
 
Morningstar's roster features 11 juniors or seniors and just five freshmen or sophomores.
