St. George, Utah - Harrison Moore (Orangeburg, S.C.) shot a 70 in the first round and a 68 in the second to win individual medalist honors and lead the College of Charleston men's golf team to first at the Pat Hicks Thunderbird Invite held Feb. 8-9 in St. George, Utah.  The Cougars finished with a 576, eight strokes ahead of UMKC.

 

Moore ended the two-round event with a 138, besting Southern Utah's Jeff Evans and Dixie State's Taylor Reardon by three strokes.

 

Western Illinois came in third with a 587 and in fourth was Boise State with a 588.  Rounding out the top five was Utah State with a 589.

 

Following Moore with his 138 for the Cougars was Cabe Prieskorn (Texarkana, Texas) who tied for sixth with a 144.  Tim Mitchell (Austin, Texas) tied for eighth with a 146 and tied for 24th was John Duke Hudson (Sonora, Texas) with a 150.  Coy Breen tied for 45th with a 154.

 

The Cougars are next in action Feb. 22-23 at the J.L. Lewis Intercollegiate in Bastrop, Texas.
