NORMAN, Okla. ? The Wofford men’s golf team has been named an Outstanding Academic Team by the GCAA, the association announced on Wednesday.

The Terriers are one of only 45 Division I men’s golf teams to be recognized by the GCAA as an Outstanding Academic Team. To earn the honor, the team must have a team GPA of 3.0 or higher. Wofford is one of two Southern Conference schools to earn the honor, with Davidson’s men’s golf team also earning recognition.

To be eligible for GCAA All-Academic Team honors, a college or university must submit the grade points earned and hours attempted for each player on its official squad list for the academic year.

East Tennessee State (Division I), St. Mary’s of Texas (Division II), Gustavus Adolphus (Division III), Savannah College of Art and Design (NAIA), McLennan CC (NJCAA DI) and Tyler JC (NJCAA DII) have been named Academic National Champions for their respective divisions announced the GCAA. East Tennessee State posted the highest recorded team GPA with 3.78.
