Eagle sophomore won his second tournament of the season in Hawaii

SPARTANBURG, S.C. ? Georgia Southern sophomore Logan Blondell has been named the Southern Conference men’s golfer of the week for all competition from March 11-17.

Blondell earned his second individual win of the season at the Kaua’i Intercollegiate Cup over the weekend. The Lakeland, Fla., native fired an opening round 2-under-par 70 only to be followed with identical 3-under-par 69s the final two rounds. His tournament total 208 (-8) is a career low for 54 holes. Blondell helped lead the Eagles to a tie for first place with East Tennessee State. The team shot a combined 860 (-4) in the tournament.

The golfer of the week is selected by a vote of the league’s men’s golf sports information directors.

Other top performers during the week were UNC Greensboro’s Will Bowman and Appalachian State’s Taylor Hines
